Alejandro Serrano Mena is a professor and researcher in the Department of Information Sciences and Computing at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands), where he also completed his doctoral studies. He has a degree in Mathematics and an engineer in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
His work focuses on the theory and practice of high-level programming languages, especially within the functional paradigm. He has published several books on the Haskell language, including “Practical Haskell” and “The Book of Monads“, and regularly collaborates in academic and industrial conferences on these topics.
