Estimated reading time Time 1 to read

The dream of building machines that can think like humans has long captured the imagination, from classical mythology and literature to later attempts to build intelligent automata. But it was not until the 1930s that the idea began to take scientific shape through the work of pioneers such as Alan Turing.
