Javier Andrés

Javier Andrés is Professor of Economics at the University of Valencia and holds an MA from the London School of Economics, where he was a Visiting Research Fellow. He is a member of the advisory board of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility, a visiting scholar in the Research Department of the Bank of Spain, and an honorary member of the Spanish Economic Association. He has been Head of the National Socioeconomic Research Program run by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and director of the journal Moneda y Crédito. His areas of expertise include economic growth, inflation, fiscal and monetary policy in the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), and the labor market. He has imparted numerous seminars, led funded research projects, and advised public institutions on macroeconomic modeling. Javier Andrés has published his work in books and articles in well-known Spanish and international high-impact scientific journals. He was co-editor of the blog Nada es Gratis and is coauthor of the book En busca de la prosperidad. Los retos de la sociedad española en la economía global del siglo xxi (Deusto, 2015).
