Douglas Nelson is a professor in the Murphy Institute and the Department of Economics at Tulane University. His research is focused on international trade and migration, with a particular focus on the political economies of those issue areas. Following earning a PhD in political science at the University of North Carolina, Nelson has held academic appointments at Rutgers University, the University of Texas—Dallas, Washington University in St. Louis, Syracuse University as well as the US Treasury, the World Bank, and the IMF.
