Carmen Pagés Serra is the Chief of the Labor Markets and Social Security Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where she leads the knowledge and operations agenda in employment and pensions. Previously, she worked as the Principal Research Economist in the Research Department of the IDB, where she led important publications such as The Age of Productivity: Transforming Economies from the Bottom Up (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010) She is also the author of the book Law and Employment: Lessons from Latin America and the Caribbean (University of Chicago Press, 2004), co-written with the Nobel Laureate in Economics, James Heckman. Carmen Pagés has published extensively in leading academic and policy journals in the areas of labor markets, social security, and productivity. Recently, she has coauthored various publications about the future of work.
