Carlos Abad

Carlos Abad has been a partner and CEO at Arthur D. Little in Spain since May 2010.

In 1994 he joined Canal Plus Television as Director General. In 1997 he was appointed Director General of Sogecable, a post he held until February 2009.

In 1983 he joined the consulting firm McKinsey & co. in their Madrid office. He was made partner in 1988 and was part of the group’s leadership and practices area in Banking, Insurance and Telecommunications in Europe until 1994.

Carlos Abad studied Business Administration at the Complutense University of Madrid, working as an intern at the Research Department of the Madrid Stock Exchange, which he joined as an economist at graduating in 1980. He received a Fulbright / Banco de Bilbao scholarship and studied MBA at Columbia University in New York. He graduated in 1983 and won the “Wall Street Journal Award”.

He is a trustee of Plan Spain, President of the Ashoka Foundation in Spain, Patron of the Caser Foundation, and member of the Board of the Business Circle

Carlos Abad Rico was born in Madrid in 1957. He is married and has three sons
