Pablo Valdivia is a Full Professor European Culture and Literature at the University of Groningen, Academic Director of the Research School for Literary Studies (OSL) of the Netherlands, Expert Scientific Advisor of the Netherlands Institute of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences and Humanities and the Netherlands Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (NIAS-KNAW), and Associate at Harvard Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Harvard University). He has recently been named a Laspau Fellow, affiliated with Harvard University, in University Innovation.
 
Before joining the University of Groningen in 2016, he worked at the University of Amsterdam, The Cambridge Foundation Villiers Park and the University of Nottingham. His research deals primarily with the “Humanities”, “Reading Science” and “Technology”, and the notions of “Culture, Literature and Crisis” from an interdisciplinary transnational perspective. The relation between “Exile and Literature” and “Literary Interculturality” are some of his main research focus as well. He is an expert on “Cultural Narratives” and “Conceptual Metaphors”.
 
He carries multidisciplinary research with special emphasis in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Reading Science, Educational Innovation, Data Science, Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Cultural Industries and Cognitive Sciences.
