Juan Ignacio Vázquez

Juan Ignacio (“Iñaki”) Vázquez is a Professor of Telematics at the University of Deusto. His main research interest is Smart Objects, and he has been involved in several tech startups in the field of the Internet of Things. He earned his PhD in Computer Science at Deusto in 2007, with the award of a Doctor Europaeus distinction. Until 2010, he was Smart Objects Research Unit Director at DeustoTech, where he headed OpenThingsLab (an Internet of Things competitiveness and innovation center for society and industry). He is currently a member of the Internet of Things Council, and takes part in both public and private initiatives, advising on new business models and creating new value propositions for existing products based on the Internet of Things.
