Ana González Menéndez

PhD in Philosophy

Ana González Menéndez received her doctorate (cum laude) in philosophy, specializing in the theory of arts and the aesthetic, from the Complutense University of Madrid. She received her undergraduate degree in philosophy and completed post graduate work in emotional intelligence and education and foreign language skills through art and culture; she rounded out her studies with a post graduate professional degree in music from the Conservatory of Madrid.

She has served on numerous editorial boards and has published a number of articles on the arts, philosophy, music, the theory of knowledge, etc., She has also developed projects with photographers, architects, and illustrators; and has herself performed in various experimental, instructional concerts. Further to her teaching and research responsibilities at various institutions, her experience as a writer and her work with the press give her the opportunity to continually innovate and reconstruct her ideas on and vision of these areas of knowledge. Accordingly, OEPLI (the Spanish Organization for Books for Children and Young People) selected her as the winner of the Lazarillo Award for an illustrated album,
