I joined the University in 1976 as a Chemistry undergraduate student and since then I have not left but rather have remained working full time along all these past years. My university work deals with what I consider as its three mainstreams: teaching, research and outreach activities. In addition to working in my present university, Complutense of Madrid (Spain), I have also worked at The Rockefeller University (New York), Northeastern University (Boston) and Kyoto University. My speciality are proteins, mostly toxic ones with the ability to interact with biological membranes.
