David Gelernter is one of the authors of BBVA’s latest book, “Ch@nge: 19 Key Essays on How the Internet is Changing our Lives.” In his article, “Cyberflow” analyzes the dynamics of information flows on the Internet.
One of the main changes in online space is the organization of information in time rather than space. Gelernter uses the concept of “lifestream” to define those patterns of temporal information, which have also become popular with the democratization of social networks. Twitter or Facebook wall are examples of this dominant paradigm.
