David Crystal: The Language of the Internet

Estimated reading time Time 1 to read

David Crystal, a writer, lecturer and professor emeritus of Linguistics at Bangor University, knows a lot about what’s going on with language on the Internet. Because in addition to completely transforming the nature of communication, this new medium is transforming its main tool: language.

In his article, professor Crystal analyzes from a linguistic perspective some of the trends that, despite the conciseness of the instant messaging phenomenon or social media like Twitter, are already changing the way we speak on the Internet.

To find out more, read David Crystal’s full article “The Internet: Changing the Language”.
